Weirdcore

Although not commonly identified by name, this surreal aesthetic is widely seen in meme culture across the internet. True to its name, the image treatment is meant to be as strange as possible, with add-ins and text that don’t relate to the base image at all. The low-quality imagery is meant to deal with dissociation and derealization, though it’s up to the viewer’s perception of the image as to what specific emotion it will inspire. Two different interpretations of the same image are common with this aesthetic: something can be creepy to one person and nostalgic to another.

For this, I decided to take some of the strangest photos from my camera roll and simply try to make them even weirder.
